Tribute to John Coltrane
The Ben van den Dungen Quartet brings a tribute to the legendary saxophonist John Coltrane and his music, one of the most influential saxophonists of all time. He gained fame during his period with Miles Davis and his solo projects struck like a bomb. The LP’s ‘Blue Trane’ and ‘Giant Steps’ amazed friend and foe and were classics from the beginning!
Partita
A virtuoso conversation between two dancers, a quirky view of Johann Sebastian Bach, about letting go but not wanting to be let go. His partitas and inventions are seen by many as the pearls of his inexhaustible oeuvre and are central to this performance. The three musicians of the ensemble Música Extrema and dancers Monik and Dante Dominguez dared to take Bach’s partitas and inventions as their point of departure and thus take their own artistic path.
