Tango Extremo releases her first l.p.
The l.p. was live recorded in spring during a concert of the theatre programm ‘Maestros’ and is released by STS Records. Besides earlier repertoire the l.p. contains newly recorded material like La Habanera and La Torreador from the opera Carmen composed by George Bizet.
A Night At The Club
The new cd of Ben van den Dungen Quartet is called A Night At The Club. The cd will be released in the first half of October. It is a fantastic new live recorded album. The repertoire consists mainly of Ben’s own compositions.
New promo of the theatre and music programm MILES!
Miles Davis was famous for his genious inspirations and passionate lifestyle. After Miles music would never be the same. Kind of Blue, Ascenseur pour l’echafaud and later Tutu belong to the legendary albums of jazz. The programm Miles! is a smashing ode to the man with the horn in picture and soud. In October the programm Miles! starts a theatre tour across The Netherlands. The première is at 25 October in Stadstheater in Zoetermeer. See tourdata for more concerts.
After a succesful opening concert at the Uitmarkt in Amsterdam, Tango Extremo started a new exciting tour: Los Maestros de La Habana.
The orchestra has been influenced by the wonderful music of South American port cities of the thirties. Think about music as danzón and tango that was played in the beautiful Cuban and Argentinian milonga’s. The group will perform a blend of music from La Habana and Buenos Aires in theaters and concert halls in the Netherlands. Especially for this occasion Tango Extremo added a percussionist to the band, the legendary Gerardo Rosales from Venezuela.
Ben van den Dungen Quartet @ The Northsea Jazzfestival 2014
Saturday the 12th of July the Ben van den Dungen Quartet will perform in the Madeira hall on The Northsea jazzfestival. The concert starts round midnight at 24.00 hour.
